Human Physiology

The Department of Physiology is one of the foundation departments in the Faculty of Basic Medical Science of the Bayelsa Medical University. It was established in 2018 to run undergraduate programs leading to the award of a B.Sc. degree in Physiology. It also engages in the teaching of basic physiology to medical, human anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology students.

The department has up-to-the-minute teaching and research laboratories, lecture rooms, staff offices, seminar/conference rooms, a departmental library, and an e-library. The Department of Physiology is pioneered by full-time, team-spirited, intellectual, proficient, and result-oriented members of academic and non-academic staff led by Prof. Ighoroje Ahbor, Dean of Basic Medical Sciences.
